The Legal Support
you need for a smoother sale
Selling a property comes with a number of legal responsibilities, from preparing disclosure documents to managing the contract and completing settlement.
Jet Legal takes care of the legal details while keeping you informed throughout the process. We work closely with you, your real estate agent and the buyer’s solicitor to help your sale move forward efficiently.
-
1. Prepare your documents
Before your property is listed or a contract is signed, we'll prepare your Seller Disclosure Statement and ensure all required documents are ready.
2. Contract preparation
Once you have a buyer, we'll review or prepare the contract and advise you on any special conditions before it becomes legally binding.
3. Contract management
Throughout the contract period, we'll work with your real estate agent and the buyer's solicitor to ensure important dates and conditions are met.
4. Settlement preparation
We'll prepare the legal documents, calculate adjustments and coordinate with all parties to ensure settlement is ready to proceed.
5. Settlement
On settlement day, ownership is transferred, funds are distributed and we'll confirm once your sale has successfully settled.

Things should know before selling your property
When should I contact a solicitor?
Ideally, before signing a contract. This gives you an opportunity to understand the terms and address any potential issues early.
What happens if there is a mortgage on the property?
We liaise with your lender to confirm the mortgage will be removed from Title at settlement.
What if the buyer asks to change the contract?
We can review the requested changes, explain how they may affect you and advise you before you agree.
When do I receive my sale proceeds?
After settlement is completed and any outstanding mortgage or adjustments have been finalised, the remaining sale proceeds are distributed to you.
